What is "Visitkansai.com"?
This website was created to assist travellers who visit the Kansai region (Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe and surrounds).
The area is incredibly diverse in sites, both natural and manmade, but all too often language or cultural restraints and a lack of good quality information combine to frustrate travellers who seek the real Japan.
This site aims to set up the definitive Kansai experience, whether your interest lies in sightseeing, shopping or dining out, through the provision of the following 3 services:
1. Answers
This is a free service that sets out to answer questions online for non-Japanese who plan to travel, or are already traveling around Kansai.
Send your question(s) from your home, hotel, or internet cafe.
Questions may relate to your travel itinerary, seasonal events, restaurant recommendations, or directions to the place(s) you want to visit.
2. Advertisements
On this Site, you can view advertisements for many shops and restaurants throughout Kansai.
What makes our Site unique, is that you then have the option to select native-speaking volunteer guide(s) to assist and accompany you to your chosen shop or restaurant, thus enriching the experience.
*"Volunteer Guide" is not available for some of the advertisements, such as hotels.
3. Volunteer Guide
Use this free service to contact and arrange guided tours with local residents in Kansai.
They are volunteers, not interpreters or official guides, but are knowledgeable, keen, and available to guide you in their chosen area(s).
Match yourself to a guide who meets your chosen requirements of place, time and activity.
You can enjoy their expertise for sightseeing, shopping trips or dining-out.
