Kawayuka (dining decks built above rivers) is one of the most pleasant places to experience summer in Kyoto.
Many restaurants at Kifune (貴船) open decks during summer from May to September.
You can enjoy a meal on the river surrounded by nature and it is a wonderful way to escape from the summer heat.
There is another famous Kawayuka in downtown of Kyoto, besides the Kamogawa River.
